Victory in the opening round of the South Staffordshire and Shropshire Cycling Clubs’ Road Race League went to Stephen Lynn (West Midlands Police CRT) on Thursday evening.
The 41-year-old from near Wolverhampton took the ten point haul ahead of 17-year-old Ben Manfield-Yorke (Wolverhampton Wheelers) while third spot was taken by Jonathan Mills-Keeling (Clee Cycles).
The Thursday night series is run over 13 weekly rounds through to July 25th, with a final race on Sunday, July 28, at the Knighton Sports and Social Club in Staffordshire.
Run on a handicapped basis, the races are open to riders of any category from elite to fourths and juniors, and take in 35 miles, or one hour for circuit race.
